WRI has extensive experience in the use of membrane filtration, sequence batch reactors, and advanced oxidation technologies for wastewater treatment. Coupled with advanced in-house capabilities for system automation and communication has allowed WRI to become the premier provider of water reclamation systems in the country.
The newest addition to the WRI line uses biological sequence batch reactors and biofilters populated by mixed bacterial cultures for biodegradation of non-volatile and volatile components to innocuous and non-hazardous end products.
To promote bacterial growth and enhanced biodegradation, the mixture is amended with vitamins, amino acids, nitrogen, and phosphorous. A pH controller is used to maintain a neutral pH, and a high-volume blower provides air and mixing. Process water from the reactor is passed through the existing ultrafiltration unit and then reused or discharged without further treatment. Solids from the reactors are captured in a filter press and disposed of as
non-hazardous solid waste.
